Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)

This course is for you if you’re considering, or already have, responsibilities for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff and workers for example, a  site manager. The course is also suitable for construction professionals such as quantity surveyors, estimators, buyers, project managers and contract administrators who wish to improve their knowledge of practical safe working in construction and civil engineering.

 

The course covers relevant legislation affecting safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture within the workforce, the principles of prevention, safety management systems such as HSG65 and the Plan Do Check Act approach to safety management as well as the Construction Design and Management regulations 2015 (CDM 2015)

 

This course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all construction managers.

At the end of the course you will have an understanding of:

  • implement all health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation affecting your daily work

  • implement new guidance and industry best practice

  • state your duties and responsibilities with regards to health, safety, welfare and the environment

To pass the course - assessment takes place during the day and candidates have to pass a mandatory Multi-choice questionnaire at the end of the day.
